James Naughtie is one of the best-known broadcasters in the UK. He was a presenter of Today on BBC Radio 4 for 21 years before retiring in 2015. He now works as a special correspondent for the show.

JNaughtie is also an award-winning writer, having written about politics in London and Washington for many years. His non-fiction books include The Rivals and The Accidental American.

JHis interest in music lead to 60-part series, The Making of Music, for Radio 4, following which he published a book of the same name.

JHe recently branched out into fiction, with thrillers The Madness of July and Paris Spring.
