Julia Wheeler is an experienced journalist and interviewer who worked for the BBC for more than 15 years. She has also written for national newspapers, notably The Times, Telegraph and Guardian.
Wheeler wrote the award-winning book Telling Tales: An Oral History of Dubai, which brings to life the village atmosphere of Dubai before it was transformed into a modern city.
Wheeler has moderated large-scale conferences and chaired inter-governmental forums. She works as a chair and interviewer at several festivals including Cheltenham (Literature and Science), the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature and Stanfords Travel Writers Festival.
She is currently writing her first novel.
