The programme for the 2017 Emirates Airline Festival of Literature is now live!
The Emirates Airline Festival of Literature is back with 9 days of literary adventure.
The Main Programme will take you on an unforgettable reading journey, with plenty of panel discussions, insightful conversations, poetry performances, workshops and masterclasses, featuring authors and speakers from every corner of the globe.
We have two packed weekends, this year, bookending a week of literary fun and frolic. Old favourites such as the Murder Mystery Dinner, Desert Stanzas, Quick Pitch and The Write Formula, and the International Women’s Day Panel see welcome returns.
New for 2017 is the Emirates Literature Foundation Dubai International Publishing Conference, held in association with The Executive Council, and the three-day Creative Writing Courses.
The 2017 Festival will have a strong focus on Peace, Tolerance and Happiness, with a number of panels dedicated to discussing the challenges of turning noble goals into reality. We will also examine the political, economic, technological and environmental challenges the world is facing and, of course, a few of our sessions will look at the world from a surprising new angle! There are too many to list here, but take a look at the different strands of our Festival to find out more.
Our Foodie strand is particularly exciting; don’t miss Afternoon Tea with Nadiya Hussain, Lunches with Nisha Katona and Rana Nejem and an enlightening Supper with Sabrina Ghayour and Peter Frankopan as they discuss the impact of the Silk Roads on our history and our cuisines.
The theme for the 2017 Festival is Journeys and we promise exciting and entertaining ones ahead!
Don’t forget, if you become a Foundation Friend, you can enjoy year-round benefits, discount on tickets and an even better Festival experience.
