JE Peterson is a historian and political analyst specialising in the Arabian Peninsula and Gulf. He is based in Tucson, Arizona, USA.
Peterson has authored and edited a dozen books and monographs, the most recent of which are The Emergence of the Gulf States and The Arab Gulf States: Further Steps Toward Political Representation, as well as the forthcoming Saudi Arabia Under Ibn Saud: Economic and Financial Foundations of the State. He has also published some 40 scholarly articles and an equal number of contributions to edited works.
Peterson is presently working on a study of Oman since 1970 and a modern history of Arabia.
